Okay, the design. First, you threw me off because I didn't have word links for navigation, but I thought the picture was very cool and went well for it being a diary. The colors work together well. You use capitalization and punctuation. Back to the navigation... You do have a previous link and one that takes you to the current entry at the bottom of your entry. I'd like to see a 'next' link, as well. You are sneaky, hiding a link right above the leg of the stool next to the table. And you even make it so the cursor doesn't change, so you don't realize you've found a new link. Sneaky, I tell you. As for the rest of the image map, I must say it is very well done. You label all of your links with titles that appear when you keep your cursor on them for a moment. If I was giving points, you'd get them all, plus probably bonus for the ingenuity. The only other thing I don't like is how your archive pages have a different layout, but it is very organized so that helps.
Extras: reviews (where we're linked!), a dland profile, buddylist, notes, guestbook, email, a works of fiction archive, an about page, and an "about me" archive. I think that was it within the image map, minus the sneaky link which I will leave title unspoken for others to find on their own.
You update constantly, with few missed days and several multiples. I'm sure that on many of those missed days I could find something you have saved under another archive. You've kept this diary since Sepember of 2001 which is a great task in itself.
This was the second entry I read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved it when you wrote the following: "She went for what every woman looks for: a guy you can screw for the rest of your life."...."I can only imagine how it would have been to run across a professor, drunk, in a bar." I continued reading and found that your entries captivated me. I could read them and they were enjoyable. Although some were slightly confusing at first, it all got clearer. You use quotes throughout your writing. You write day to day but also put in the anecdotes that make it more than just that. Your entries are long, sometimes what seems to be incredibly long, but I've found that we all seem to write long-winded at times (or sometimes all the time *wink*). That still didn't make me not want to continue reading which is odd because I am normally turned off my writing of increased length (unless they're my own). One thing I will remember from your diary is that we always ask, "What if I can't do this," but should realize that no matter what we will accomplish something good.
After reading your diary, I dub you with a score of being the captivating, story-teller.
Songs listened to while reviewing: I'm finishing up with Cold Play's Trouble, on my somewhat newly created mix CD.
Thanks for the invite into your world.
